HTC Corporations has launched their new Android-based smartphone, namely, HTC Wildfire S. It is an affordable and mid-range budgetary smartphone. It was announced at the Mobile World Congress event, held at Barcelona in February, 2011. This new handset runs on Google’s Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating system and powered by 600 MHz processor. Since, it is a Google based, the device includes various Google services including Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Picasa and many more. The device is so light as its handling is so excellent. It weighs just 105 grams and measures dimensions with 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm. The Wildfire S has 3.2 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen having with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It is integrated with Gorilla glass display which makes the device life proof, in a sense that it is water proof, dust proof and scratch resistant.
The HTC Wildfire S has got 512MB ROM and 512MB RAM. It also has an extra room for memory expansion up to 32GB via microSD card slot. As far as its connectivity is concerned, the Wildfire S supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, EDR, GPRS and EDGE. In 3G connectivity, it offers HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA at 384 Kbps. On camera front, this Android-based Wildfire S boasts an excellent 5MP rear facing camera with auto focus and LED flash light. It is capable of recording videos at 24 frames per second and captures some good quality superb images.
