Sony Ericsson’s Xperia 2011 fleet of smartphones will get their Android Ice Cream Sandwich bump just about in 4 months in March as has been indicated by a comment from a Sony Ericsson executive under the Italian division. Assuming that this applies to all of the northern European territory then Xperia owners in UK should get really excited.
If the bump is made available then the SIM free Xperia buyers will be the first one to get the upgrade, whereas the contract buyers will have to wait for their respective networks to incorporate the update with their services and then make the update available.
Sony Ericsson has been trying hard for its customers to get the ICS bump, which is more than what you can say for the likes of HTC. Previously it has been confirmed by Sony Ericsson that the Xperia owners of 2011 are all in line to get the necessary bump, including the likes of Arc, Arc S, Play etc.
